The ISB Working Group in Motor Control hosted their 8th Symposium on Motor Control in Biomechanics

20 July 2018

The ISB Working Group in Motor Control hosted their 8th Symposium on Motor Control in Biomechanics on July 10th-11th, 2018 in conjunction with the 8th World Congress of Biomechanics in Dublin, Ireland.

The symposium featured internationally distinguished researchers in the field of Motor Control and Biomechanics (see flyer for details), including:

  • Dr. Antoine J. (Ton) van den Bogert (Cleveland State University, USA), “A functional and holistic approach to the identification of human motor control”
  • Dr. Robert D. Gregg, IV (University of Texas at Dallas, USA), “Continuously parameterizing the timing and task adaptations of human locomotion for the control of powered prosthetic legs”

Dozens of other progressive researchers had the opportunity to showcase their work during four different Motor Control sessions across the two days, via oral and poster presentations. You can view the symposium’s complete program here.

We would like to extend a special thank-you to the De Luca Foundation (DLF) for their financial assistance in supporting the symposium, and for providing Student Travel Awards in the amount of $500 USD for eight students to participate in the symposium. Congratulations to the winners! See winners here.

Upcoming symposia under planning will be held in conjunction with the ISB 2019 and ACSM 2019 Conferences, details for which will be released in the future. Please check our website periodically for all news and event updates. We hope to see you there!
